I am planning a visit. What should I expect Sunday morning?

How do I get there? We are located in Decatur Alabama at 3103 Spring Avenue SW. We are two blocks South of Wal-Mart. We are the first church on the right side of the road.

Where to I Park?    We invite you to park in the visitor parking spaces right in front of the church. We have Parking Lot Greeters to make sure that you find the right spot. If you need any help they are there to serve.

When do I need to Arrive?    Morning Bible study starts at 9:45am and you are welcome to come and enjoy any of our many classes for adults, teens and children. Worship service begins at 10:45am in our main sanctuary.

What do adults wear? You are welcome to wear whatever you are comfortable in. At South Decatur you will find some that dress in bluejeans and some that dress in a suits and ties. You will not feel out of place wearing either.

What is the service like?        The 10:45 service is a contemporary service with praise & worship, prayer time, giving, and a sermon. Music--We are priviledged to have a live band to lead us in worship. One of the best ministries in the church is the South Decatur Choir that sings during every Sunday service. All the songs are on the overhead screen and you are welcome to sing alone. You can stand and clap your hands or you can sit back and just enjoy, how ever you choose to worship God. Sermons--Pastor Jay preaches most all Sunday mornings and you will hear a relevelant, passionate sermon.

What about tithe and Offering? Tithe and offering is taken up during each service, but you do not have to feel obligated to give. We do like to encourage giving, as we believe that God will bless those that give to the work of the kingdom. Giving is totally up to you.

What about Communion? There are special times when Pastor Jay will offer communion but it is not every week.

May our Children stay in service with us? Yes, but children are also invited to our Treehouse kids church, or our nursery. All workers are screened and trained to work with children. There are signs showing you where these ministry areas are located on the campus but if you need help then please feel free to ask us.

Is your church accessible to people in wheelchairs?  Yes. We have a handicap drop off door on the side of the church under the porch. There are ushers to assist those that need assistance.

These are just a few questions that we wanted to answer for you. We hope that you will come out and be our guest very soon. Feel free to surf the rest of the site and find out more about South Decatur.
